This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:

  • Create an Account: When you register for an account, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and authentication information through third-party authentication services such as Apple Sign In.
  • Complete Your Profile: You may choose to provide additional information including your bio, profile image, location, website, social media links, interests, and skills.
  • Create Events: We collect event information including event name, description, date, location (including GPS coordinates), address details, category, and banner images.
  • Upload Photos: When you upload photos to events, we collect and store those images along with associated metadata.
  • Communicate with Us: If you contact us for support or other inquiries, we collect the information you provide in those communications.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and device settings.
  • Usage Information: Information about how you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, features used, events created or attended, and time spent on the Service.
  • Location Information: With your permission, we collect precise location data (GPS coordinates) when you use location-based features such as event discovery or when you set an event location. You can control location permissions through your device settings.
  • Log Data: Server logs including IP address, access times, app features or pages viewed, app crashes, and other system activity.
  • Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens used to send push notifications, which you can manage through your device settings and app preferences.

1.3 Payment Information

When you make purchases through our Service, payment processing is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play Store (when available). We do not collect or store your payment card information. However, we do receive and store:

  • Transaction identifiers and purchase history from RevenueCat (our payment processing partner)
  • Subscription status and plan information
  • Credit balance and usage information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service

  • Enable event creation, discovery, and participation

  • Public Events: If you create a public event, the event name, description, date, location, and banner image are visible to all users of the Service.
  • Profile Information: Your name, profile image, bio, and other profile information you choose to make public are visible to other users.
  • Event Photos: Photos uploaded to events are visible to other users who have access to that event (either through public access or event invitations).

3.2 Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf:

  • Authentication Services: Clerk and Apple Sign In for user authentication
  • Payment Processing: RevenueCat for subscription and payment management
  • Cloud Storage: Cloudflare R2 for storing images and other content
  • Push Notifications: Expo Push Notification Service for delivering notifications
  • Analytics: Service providers that help us analyze usage patterns and improve our Service

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it for the purposes we specify.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency). We may also disclose information when we believe disclosure is necessary to:

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or business purposes. Note that information you have shared with others (such as photos in events) may remain visible to others even after you delete your account.

5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Update

You can access and update certain information through your account settings in the app. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@partycipate.pro.

5.2 Location Information

You can control location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location services will limit certain features of the Service, such as location-based event discovery.

5.3 Push Notifications

You can manage push notification preferences through your device settings and within the app. You may opt out of receiving push notifications at any time, though this may limit your ability to receive important updates about events.

5.4 Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information as described in Section 4, subject to applicable legal requirements.

5.5 California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

6. Children's Privacy

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you must have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service.

7. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services that have their own privacy policies:

  • Apple Sign In: When you use Apple Sign In, Apple's Privacy Policy applies to the authentication process. We receive your email address and name (if provided) from Apple.
  • Clerk: Our authentication provider. Their privacy practices are governed by Clerk's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat: Our payment processing partner. Payment information is processed according to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare R2: Our cloud storage provider for images and content.
  • Expo: Push notification services are provided by Expo. Their privacy practices are governed by Expo's Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country.

By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service to you

11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our mobile app does not use cookies but may use similar technologies for analytics and functionality purposes.

12. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. Currently, there is no standard for how DNT signals should be interpreted. Our Service does not currently respond to DNT browser signals or mechanisms.
